The same at all centres

What doesn't change, wherever you go

Natural wooden building blocks

The program

Reggio-inspired practice, aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework. Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teachers lead our funded kindergarten rooms. Physical education, music, art, dance, Indigenous culture and animal incursions are part of the program, not paid extras.
Healthy balanced meal

The food

Qualified chefs cook fresh in commercial kitchens on site, on a four-week rotating menu you can see any time. Every centre is nut and egg aware. Through the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program, children grow food in the garden and then cook with it.
Bright sun

The day-to-day

Premium nappies, wipes and sunscreen are included in your fees. Every room runs a Daily Routine board recording meals, sleeps and milk. Your Centre Director sends a Weekly Wrap-up with photos and learning stories, and your child keeps a portfolio to take home at the end of the year.

Across our Melbourne locations, children from six weeks to five years are supported through play-based early learning, thoughtfully designed environments and funded kindergarten programs, with caring educators building genuine partnerships with families along the way.

Common Questions

If yours isn't here, your Centre Director would rather you asked than guessed.

Use the suburb finder above, or call 1300 168 881 and we'll work it out with you. Our five centres are in Reservoir, Essendon, Blackburn South, Nunawading, and Springvale.

Yes, and we'd encourage it if you're between two. Each tour is run by that centre's Director, so you'll get a real sense of the differences. Blackburn South and Nunawading sit close together - families usually know within ten minutes which one is theirs.

The philosophy, the program structure, the chef-prepared meals, the garden program and the incursions are consistent across all five. What differs is the building, the outdoor spaces, the local community and the Centre Director.

Availability changes room by room and month by month, so it's always worth asking. If we can't offer the days you need, we'll tell you honestly, add you to the waitlist for that room, and keep you updated as things move. We'll also tell you if another Starfish centre nearby has the days you're after.

Your out-of-pocket cost depends on your family's Child Care Subsidy entitlement, so there isn't a single answer. Use our subsidy calculator for an estimate, then your Centre Director can walk you through the real numbers for your days and your centre. Fees and government contributions are subject to change.

It's possible, but most families would rather not run two drop-offs. Talk to us — if you have a child already enrolled and a sibling on the way, tell your Centre Director early so we can plan around it.
